this strange and gripping time
Thank you all for your contributions to The Tan Times: Reboot. I am so chuffed and grateful for the work & care you have put in your gifts to this space.
If you followed the posts as they rolled out, you will note that there is a variety of contributions:
- An editorial by myself, Reboot in a Strange & Gripping Time, which was written in early April, when the Devadasons could still have a meal and spend time with TK & Juliet. Now we find ourselves in the 3rd week of April, and we can no longer do so, as social visits are prohibited under stricter Circuit Breaker restrictions.
- Reflection by TK & Juliet, where an old desk is made new & a dusty newsletter is given new life.
- Art & the Written Word to beautify our page & day:
- 4.give me: poem by Meg
- Harmony: colouring & reflection by Jo
- Phoenix by the Pool: poem & art by Kem
- Turtle Soup, or How Old Turtle Became Boss: re-telling of a Wyandotte fable by Meg & Ju-Lyn
- A peek at our very 1st newsletter: From the Archives Vol 1 No 1, Jan- Apr 1992
- Conversations with
- Shien: catching up with him in Meet Lu-Shien Tan
- TK: getting a glimpse into his past year, his birthday aspirations and tapping his experience for tips for enlightened living, in Chat with TK/Dad/Grandpa. Then, follow this link for a selection of birthday greetings for TK.
Thank you for taking the time to share this space with us, by visiting the posts and reading, experiencing & responding to them. We would love it if you’d consider contributing to the May issue – a recipe, a tip on how to stay sane, or a poem, a book review, a reflection on how you are doing. We invite you to send it in to julyndee@gmail.com.
The Tan Times may have started with just the 5 of us, but in this new & strange season we find ourselves, we hope that it will grow to include our extended families & loved ones. Looking forward to hearing from you all in the month ahead. Meanwhile, keep safe & stay well!
